While we were visiting Disneyland, I received an email from our adoption facilitator in Ukraine. Yulia let us know that she had successfully gotten us an appointment with the SDA on May 5th. Many people are having a difficult time being invited back for a second appointment, and some of them had first appointments months before we did. Also, we have paperwork expiring at the end of May. If it expired before we received an appointment, we would've had to start from the beginning, which we were not prepared to do. So, getting this appointment was absolutely a small miracle for us and we are taking it as a positive sign to keep going. Unfortunately, this is another blind appointment, therefore, we don't know if any of the referrals will be semi-healthy. All we can do is have faith that things will work out the way they are meant to.
We leave around midnight on Friday night. We will fly Jet Blue to JFK and then we will wait in the airport for nine hours (all day Saturday). At 6:30pm on Saturday, we will fly from JFK to Kiev on Aerosvit (Ukrainian airlines). We are excited for our new journey and to see what will happen.
